- Shop name: Ivy & Gold Handcraft
- Location: Syracuse, New York
- Known for: Rustic and minimalist jewelry inspired by nature
A couple of months ago, I purchased the Above the Knuckle Midi Ring and Sterling Silver Rosette Stud Earrings from Ivy & Gold Handcraft, a small business making handmade jewelry. I found this shop after scouring Etsy for minimalist midi rings and jewelry that would go with a variety of styles. I was drawn to this shop because of its style and the high-quality materials used, since I avoid nickel in my jewelry. The ring is a hammered finish in 14/20 yellow gold fill, meaning that it is a layer of 14k gold fused to a core of a base metal, such as copper or brass. I ordered my ring in the size 3.5 (US). The earrings are sterling silver in the "antiqued" finish. Both came as described and look very well-made.
My order shipped within two business days and arrived wrapped in sturdy individual boxes (more photos below). The shop owner included a set of care instructions and a handwritten personalized thank-you note. Everything was so cute with a ton of attention to detail.
Thoughts
I love my new Ivy & Gold pieces and would absolutely recommend the shop to others. My transaction was smooth and professional, and I appreciate that the material info was clearly stated and easy to find on each item listing. The items are perfect and look exactly as advertised. I haven't had them long enough to comment on longevity, but both items feel sturdy. I imagine that they will hold up well if I follow the care instructions. The only drawback (if you can even call it that) is that Ivy & Gold has a relatively small catalog, so it isn't a shop that has tons of new items to revisit often. That said, I have no complaints at all and love what I got. They are exactly what I wanted, so I'm thrilled!
