I bought the Whalesong Palette from Menagerie Cosmetics and struggled for awhile with times to use it, since the entire palette is blues and greens. One day, I decided to just do something simple and did this four-color look! It's hard to generalize and describe your makeup in one go, so it feels strange to give a certain name to this look. Does that get easier with time? We'll see.
Thoughts
There's a good chance I'll do a full review of this palette at some point, but the spoiler for now is that I wasn't very impressed. The lid shade is a shimmer, which I don't think is very apparent, even though I used a white base. It should be shiny and popping! The description even calls this shade one of their "foiled metallics", which is laughable considering that it's pretty lackluster, especially when you see how it looks in the pan from their website photos. The wear time also wasn't anything to get excited about, but I'll give more details in a full review.
All things considered, though, this was fun to do and reminded me that it's not that difficult to insert color into a more subdued look! This was obviously very bright, so I probably wouldn't wear it to work again... Appropriate or not, it can be a little stressful to experiment with so many different things in the morning. Could I see taking one part of this and mixing it with neutral shades to add a pop of color? Definitely! This was fun to do, even if it wasn't perfect.
