Stagman by Cadillacquer is described as a
black crelly filled with different sized white and bright red glitter
❤️ Inspired by the Stag Man, a Wendigo from the tv series Hannibal 🖤 This color was exclusive to the indie pre-order event Polish Pickup (PPU) for the October 2019 theme "Urban Legends".
The bottle has a medium-length cap and a standard brush. Both were easy to use. I wore this polish for four days before seeing noticeable chipping and tip wear. I'm relying on memory instead of notes for this one, but I don't remember it having any texture or issues with application.
For this particular manicure, I used:
- Base coat: Ulta clear polish
- Top coat: Essence The Gel Nail Polish Top Coat
- Coats used: Two, I think
- Wrapped tips: No
Thoughts
I bought this during my first PPU as I was beginning to rebuild my nail polish collection. I only had about four colors at the time, mostly light shades, and I wanted an interesting black polish. I liked the addition of glitter and thought it added a unique dynamic. I wasn't using quality base/top coat at the time, so I'd be interested to try this polish again! Wearing it again, I would also fish around to get more of those glitters out, since they didn't 'pop' like I wanted on a normal application. I imagine the glitter may have stood out more if I applied more coats.
I want to see more of them! I also remember being upset that this color didn't last very long, but it now seems like a decent wear time, all things considered.
The funniest thing about this photo to me is my nails themselves. I have a handful of photos to post of my nails like this, but I can't wait to show off the change. I used to wear my nails really short with no real shape, and you can tell that my painting skills were not great. So much has changed since November!
All things considered, I think this is a cool polish, and I'm glad to have it. The inspiration isn't immediately clear to me, since I haven't watched Hannibal, but doing a quick search for the show + 'Wendigo' brings up some CREEPY images. Yep, the colors make perfect sense if that's what you're going for. Yuck. I don't know the context of the show to say if it's technically an urban legend, but they did a good job nailing the color inspiration! I can appreciate a well-thought-out shade, and I'll definitely be keeping this one in my collection.
